The story of some of my favourite flowers.
The story of some of my favourite flowers.
From my childhood, I remember empty shops and grey and dull towns that were coming alive just before Christmas, when in shops windows Christmas trees were decorated with colourful baubles and lights.
The cities were also colourful for a while on hot summer days. There were lots of flowers and greenery in the squares.
But there is one special and magical place that is close to me. This is called “Plac Solny” (Salt Square) in Wrocław. This is where you can buy the cut flowers of your dreams all year round, practically 24 hours a day. This is where, every year, just before Easter, my grandfather took me to buy flowers. He bought daffodils for my grandma, and I always chose Freesias for myself.
Beautiful flowers with an amazing scent that is simply hypnotising.
Freesias are flowers of friendship. They symbolise trust, caring, and innocence. They are beautiful and unique. My favourite.
Every time I look at them, I remember how popular flowers were during my childhood.
